About Roanoke Area Activism Network

This group is meant to include all citizens who want to become more active in the democratic processes and public eye of the United States. It is meant to be a central place for a person of any political persuasion to join in the kinds of political activism, discussion, and advocacy that they see as important.

If you have been looking for a meetup group that champions your cause, this is the place to get you started meeting. We will advertise any event in or around Roanoke that is considered civic activism/volunteerism on the group calendar, and any members that are interested can promote the event! (but you have to be a member to suggest events).

By centralizing certain aspects of organizement, this group allows a diverse network of people to consolidate costs and form coalitions easily with others for the good of a healthy grassroots democracy. Joining this group simply means you want to participate in citizenship, activism, or advocacy of some sort. You don't need to change yourself to fit in somewhere in this group! All you need is a passion to be the change you wish to see in the world!"
