DESCRIPTION:Save Hotel Penn\n\nWe are going to rally in front of the Hotel 
 Pennsylvania. We will be yelling slogans\, talking to people and the press 
 and handing out fliers. Will last from 9am-11am sharp.\n\nGoogle Map Locati

 s warmly. I wear 5 layers myself and it is going to be very cold outside. E
 ven if you think it is warm\, you can take layers off instead of freezing y
 our but off. If you feel too cold\, tell us and we will pick up your slack 
 while you run into the Hotel Lobby to warm up.\n\n2) Do not worry about bri
 nging fliers. We have some at our website. (http://www.savethehotel.org/New
 s/Flyer.html) If you cannot print them or do not have them\, relax! We have
  fliers and signs for you\, so there is no excuse for not showing up!\n\n3)
  Respect the law. This is a rally\, not a riot. We do not want a negative i
 mage at this event. We will tell you when you get there what property lines
  to walk on and if so\, deal with the authorities in an appropriate manner.

 le who show up! That and we expect media attention\, so if you ever wanted 
 to be in the papers or on TV\, this is your chance!\n\n\n::About Us::\n\nTh
 e Hotel Pennsylvania was built in 1919 and has a very rich history. It has 
 been home to many a "big band" concert in its early years and was the inspi
 ration for the famous Glenn Miller song "PEnnsylvania 6-5000\," a phone num
 ber that still rings at the Hotel Pennsylvania switchboard. The building it
 self is filled with hidden corridors\, rooms\, and even floors. Being right
  across the street from Penn Station (New York's main train station)\, it's
  extremely easy to get to for those coming to New York for the first time. 
 And because it's not an overly expensive place to stay\, it's proven very p
 opular for travelers from all over the world.\n\nIn early 2007\, the real e
 state firm Vornado Realty Trust announced plans to demolish the hotel\, rep
 lacing it with an office tower and a generic box of ads\, forever destroyin
 g part of our city's cultural history in favor of what critics call "Times 
 Square Junior."\n\nWe at the Save Hotel Penn Foundation believe there is al
 ready enough Times Square a few blocks uptown\, and that our city cannot af
 ford to repeat the mistake of 1964 and Penn Station on any level. We are cu
 rrently working closely with the New York City Government and the local com
 munity to get the Hotel Pennsylvania preserved as a landmark protecting it
